[Phenomenal Women] In Conversation with Ella Prakash

What was the first-ever piece of art you made?

When I was 9 years old, I remember drawing a woman.

What is the most exciting thing about being a female artist in today’s world?

For me personally, coming from a very conservative family it was not easy for me to dream of making art. Art has always been my big passion in life and it feels exciting to have reached a level of success which I only dreamed of as a child. I am proud to be counted among women artists who are on an equal footing with men.

What mantra would you offer a woman aspiring to be an artist?

Believe in yourself and follow your dreams. Don’t let go of your passion because you have only one life- use it well.
